Opening Day

PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE TO THE SONOMA INDEX-TRIBUNE

Sonoma Little League Turns 75. Opening Day Brings the Town Together on Friday, March 13.

Sonoma, CA, Sonoma Little League will celebrate its 75th season with Opening Day on Friday, March 13 at the ball fields. The community is invited to come down, fill the stands, and help kick off a season built on teamwork, confidence, and local pride.

The Opening Day Hat Ceremony begins promptly at 4:15 PM. First games start at 5:00 PM. Families, neighbors, alumni, and anyone who loves Sonoma are encouraged to attend, even if you do not have a player in the league.

This league has been part of Sonoma since 1951. Generations of kids have learned how to show up, practice, work through failure, and support each other. It is not just baseball. It is one of the few places left where kids get coached by people who live down the street, where families sit together on the bleachers, and where the whole town can rally around something positive.

Opening Day is the moment it all starts again. New teams. New friendships. New memories. You will see kids standing a little taller in their uniforms. You will hear cheers that sound like home. You will feel why this matters.
