10U's Head to Northern CA State Championship!

In a first for any Sonoma Little League team, the 10U All Stars have won the Section 1 Championship in a 3-1 win over North Oakland Wednesday night in Woodland. After defeating Woodland as well as North Oakland on Monday, the 10U’s were strong on the mound with Henry Lawrence leading the team to victory on the hill. The hurler allowed four hits and one run while striking out three and walking only one. Grady Rogina then took the mound in relief out of the bullpen and recorded the last seven outs with 6 strikeouts to earn the save for the Sonoma All Stars.Henry Lawrence, Dean Meroney and Matteo Padilla each collected one hit with Padilla and Rogina each earning an RBI. The All Stars were sure handed and didn’t commit a single error on the field.The team now heads to the Northern California State Championship tournament at Gilroy Sports Park (5925 Monterey Frontage Road, Gilroy) with the first game tomorrow, Saturday 7/24 at 6:30pm against Fair Oaks-Orangevale. This two-game elimination tournament goes thru July 30th. The 10U team players are Weston Ariza, Paul Beale, Xavier Fabela, Greysen Giarritta, Wylder Gilardi, Parker Green, Henry Lawrence, Dean Meroney, Matteo Padilla, Channing Perez, Grady Rogina, Cash Stoner, Lincoln Subaie and Jackson Weaver. Coaches are Will Subaie, Casey Rogina, Clark Stoner and Justin Weaver.
